brian c. stivers

president & founder

Brian has spent 29 fantastic years in the financial industry after deciding to abandon his successful real estate career. His desire to truly connect with others and make a difference in people’s lives is one of his main motivations. The other was his own life experience living in poverty, watching his grandparent’s struggle with finances throughout retirement, and traveling to third-world countries on mission trips where he saw how truly negative the impacts of financial struggles can be.

Estate Planning Attorney, Founder of Stivers Law

I am a native Floridian but was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a once avid hiker and backpacker, I decided to attend college at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina to be close to the mountains and spend as much time outside as possible.

brian stivers

president & founder

Brian began his career in 1993 with a passion to partner with people to assist them in creating the potential to meet their needs, goals, and dreams in retirement. During the first several years of his practice he discovered that much of the Financial Advisory World was more focused on the investments they “sell” then the needs of their clients. This worked fine through the dot.com boon of the 1990’s. But as the dot.com bubble busted in 2000, then 9/11 forever changed our country, and then the resulting deep recession we found ourselves in, Brian felt there must be a better way. He developed the Four Cornerstone Process to assist his clients to have the potential to protect their retirement and investment savings against catastrophic losses, to provide the potential for stable growth, to provide a retirement income to last a lifetime, and to protect those they love financially at their death. His process is built on the foundation of one simple question – Is this plan in the best interest of the client? The financial crisis of 2008 reinforced Brian’s passion to share his Four Cornerstone Process. As an independent advisor who functions in the capacity of a Fiduciary, Brian is committed to plan first based on what’s important to his clients then invest based on the plan that was created through his Four Cornerstone Process.

I am a native Floridian but was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a once avid hiker and backpacker, I decided to attend college at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina to be close to the mountains and spend as much time outside as possible. While in college, I had the opportunity to spend several years working and studying in places such as Israel, Costa Rica, Scotland, and Peru. Ultimately, this love of traveling and my passion for service led me to the United States Peace Corps where I spent nearly three years in the Central American country of Honduras working to help improve the living conditions of a small community where I lived. I quickly realized that I wanted to help others on a large scale and saw the legal profession as a way to do that. At this point, I was fluent in Spanish and hooked on Latin food and the tropical climate so attending the University of Miami (Florida not Ohio) seemed like the obvious choice for law school. In 2017, I founded Stivers Law and as they say, the rest is history! Since 2017, I’ve had the pleasure of expanding my practice to include my hometown of Knoxville.
